With more than 30 top-level sports facilities, the municipality of Calvià stands out as one of the best places in Europe for athletes or sports enthusiasts to train, compete and enjoy different disciplines. 

Located to the west of the island of Majorca, Calvià has a vast, modern infrastructure for practicing sports. With more than 300 days of sunshine and mild temperatures in autumn and winter, it is the ideal destination for outdoor physical activity in a spectacular environment that combines sea, nature, mountains, urban areas and traditional villages. 

Calvia’s sports infrastructure

Less than three hours by plane from most European capitals, Calvià has more than 30 high-class sports complexes including six football fields, five golf courses, six indoor and two outdoor 25 meter heated pools, six top-level tennis clubs and four marinas. Puerto Portals and Port Adriano, two of the marinas are world-class benchmarks in terms of facilities, design and luxury including the sailing clubs of Santa Ponça and Palmanova. The best athletics track in the entire archipelago is located in Magaluf. In addition, the mountain and coastal roads make Calvià a popular choice for cyclists and hikers.

World renown international sporting events

Triathlon, athletics, mountain cycle races or beach volleyball are all part of the events that the municipality hosts throughout the year. On the international circuit are the Peguera Mallorca Triathlon Challenge, a spectacular medium-distance race in the Peguera area that takes place the third week of October; the Magaluf Half Marathon, next held on April 23, 2022 and the Galatzó Trail, which runs through the 1,400+ hectares of the Es Galatzó Estate.

Pre-season sports training

The climate, the facilities and the services available make Calvià a go-to destination for pre-season sports training, especially cycling, tennis, triathlon, football or swimming. The municipality offers comprehensive services to assist with planning and organising training camps in key locations such as Palmanova, Magaluf, Peguera or Santa Ponça.
