Not surprisingly, as our Federal and State Governments do not seem to be able to come to a sensible decision regarding the restart of cruising by domestic cruising in Australia, P&O Cruises Australia has announced a further six week pause to its cruise operations, until 17 September this year.

This is despite the advice of highly qualified experts, including world specialist Dr Ian Norton, who told me there was no reason domestic cruising within the Australian bubble could not start right now and to hear what Dr Norton had to say CLICK HERE.

The last cruise pause was until 31 July, but with the current much repeated Federal Biosecurity Order in place until 17 June the new P&O pause date coincides with a further three months from that June date…maybe P&O knows something we don’t know [LOL] or at least the various layers of government are not telling us {DOUBLE LOL!]

In what must be a tiring litany of repeated updates regarding the ongoing repeated cruise pauses, P&O Cruises Australia President Sture Myrmell said the move was consistent with the line’s practical approach to the operating environment and reflected a desire to ensure guests can plan holidays with as much certainty as possible, adding what he and CLIA boringly repeat on regular basis , “We are supporting our industry association as it works with governments and public health authorities to develop a framework for the successful resumption of cruising” [Yawn, Yawn!].
