WelcometoCountry.com will formally launch the world’s first not-for-profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural tourism and retail platform on Wednesday 2 December with a virtual event curated by Rhoda Roberts AO, a Welcome to Country Board Member. The launch event kicks off a week featuring 17 online events until Tuesday 8 December showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural tourism and behind the scenes with some great artists.

Australians can register for the launch on the link above. There they can view details of 17 FREE online activities with Aboriginal and tourism operators, artists and authors. The events also include thought-provoking conversations hosted by Rhoda Roberts with experts about the traditional knowledge inherent in First Nations cultural tourism. The discussions are with academic leaders Professor Marcia Langton and Bruce Pascoe, cultural fire management expert Victor Steffensen and sportsman and author Joe Williams.

With more than 90 tourism experiences, the Welcome to Country marketplace is ideally placed to capture Australia’s domestic tourism market over the summer holidays and into a very hopeful COVID-19 free future in 2021.
