Off the back of last night’s announcement that Melbournians can finally travel outside of their immediate vicinity, caravan and campervan hiring platform, Camplify, has an incredible surge of 70% in regional Victorian holiday bookings. The platform’s web traffic was also up 127% over the weekend, compared to the previous weekend, with Victorians planning their first post lockdown vacation.

With Victorians eager to hit the road, popular holiday destinations include Gippsland, Otways, and Lorne. Camplify reached out to its community of van owners who hit the road regularly to some of the state’s most stunning camping locations to get their recommendations on some of our best kept secrets for your next roadtrip.

Victorian van owners can make between $4,900 – $14,000, hiring out their caravans over the next 10 weeks, as families hit the road for summer holidays.

Justin Hales, CEO of Camplify commented: “We’re so pleased to see Victorians are finally able to hit the road again and travel within their state. For many van owners, this will also provide a much needed second income after a challenging year.”

David Williams, owner of expander van, Tanami in VIC, says Zanetti’s Beach is his go to. Zanetti’s Beach is a short drive from Yarrawonga and is David’s recommendation for travellers in VIC. Close to the local down and boasting stretches of soft white sand, this beach has the lot. The swimming is fantastic with areas of low current and shallow water for the little ones and also has some great fishing spots.

Rudy Van Der Berg, owner of The Roaming Campervan, loves to visit the Cumberland River Holiday Park on the Great Ocean Road. This beautiful park runs along the river opposite the beach with many campsites on the river’s edge. Through the rainforest and cutting through pretty towns, the Great Ocean Road is a route that offers, not only stunning views, but also action-packed adventures and activities too.

Victoria’s most unique vans that are available to hire over the coming months have been rounded up by the team at Camplify.
