Tourism Yukon together with its Australia GSA, DC & Associates Worldwide, this week conducted a highly successful trade B2B event, connecting suppliers and tour operators from Canada’s Yukon Territory with Australian tourism trade and travel media.
The innovative virtual platform provided by TravMedia’s sister company, TravTrade, allowed for a seamless, interactive event that ran over two and a half hours, including an opening address by Robin Anderson, Global Marketing Manager at Tourism Yukon.
“The B2B event was an excellent opportunity for our passionate tourism partners here in Yukon to network and educate Australian tour operators about what makes the vast wilderness of Yukon unlike any other place in the world,” says Robin. “With the annual global trade event, Rendez-vous Canada, cancelled for 2020, this B2B event was a golden opportunity to showcase Yukon’s rich culture and outdoor adventures.”
A total of 17 Yukon suppliers and tour operators met with 17 industry members and travel media, providing a ‘perfect match’ for appointments which ran for eight minutes each.
“While we wait for border restrictions to ease, Australian travel industry members are eager to spend time learning about tours, experiences and unique adventures on offer overseas, so that when travel resumes, they’ll be ahead of the game,” says Donna Campbell, Managing Director, DC & Associates Worldwide.
Media Director, Pip Macken, said the four Australian travel publishers and editors who participated in the event were inspired by the diverse four-season experiences on offer in Yukon.
“From northern lights flight-seeing tours to hiking Canada’s largest mountains, the media were enriched with story angles and famil ideas for when travel becomes possible again,” says Pip.
“Overall, the morning was a huge success and we’re excited to be at the cutting edge of innovation by using a tailored digital platform created by the team at TravMedia.”
