In celebration of the South Australian border reopening to NSW residents from Thursday 24th September, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Qantas have marked the first interstate Qantas flight from Sydney to Adelaide since restrictions lifted.
Travellers from New South Wales will now be able to enter South Australia without the need to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine. After several weeks of border closures due to COVID-19 interstate travel restrictions, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Qantas are delighted to welcome back travellers to the state. NSW is South Australia’s second largest inbound market, with the return of interstate travel set to have a significant impact on the state’s tourism economy.
As the state looks forward to welcoming back family and friends, the SATC is also reminding others that South Australia is a destination you have to see to believe. Visitors from NSW spend more than $779 million each year in South Australia, with one in four domestic visitors to SA coming from NSW.
From vineyard tours in the Barossa Valley, to luxury lodges on Kangaroo Island, glamping in the Flinders and shark cage diving in Port Lincoln, NSW residents will now be able to discover the state’s world-class food and drink, jaw dropping landscapes, abundant wildlife, vibrant city life and iconic coastal culture.
