The Mary Valley Rattler’s very own super hero, Steam Man, will join special services over the school holiday period.

Four additional dedicated family services will be added over the Queensland school holiday period. The Mary Valley Rattler will operate extra services on Monday 21 September, Friday 25 September, Monday 28 September and Friday 2 October to provide a trip back in time for all the family as the legendary train steams its way through picturesque Mary Valley.

Leaving Gympie Station at 10am, the train travels to Amamoor, crossing over bridges and through the lush landscape to one of Mary Valley’s most attractive villages, Amamoor, where passengers disembark and get to see the steam engine being turned around on the historic turntable.

The train returns to Gympie by 1pm. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are available at the station’s Rusty Rails Café, with a menu designed to please all the family

There is an opportunity to meet the driver prior to the train leaving, and children can join in the fun to SPOT Steam Man who will appear somewhere along the heritage rail line through the picturesque Mary Valley.

Children’s tickets for the ride are available for $32, adults $62 and a special family pass is available for $165 (2 adults, 2 children).

The Mary Valley Rattler has a full Covid-safe plan in place, which means that bookings are essential.
