The UK government has announced that business events, conferences and exhibitions can resume from the 1st October. This is very welcome news and we are more excited than ever to bring our community back together and get the whole industry sharing, learning and connecting again safely.

As you may already know we are proceeding with a hybrid event format for this year, combining both a live and virtual event running in tandem.

Live event: Mon 19 – Tues 20 Oct

Virtual: Mon 19 – Weds 21 Oct

All buyers who have already registered through our old system will be moved across to the new platform so they won’t need to register again.

The content of the registration form is mostly the same. The only difference being you will no longer have to provide 2 future event examples. The reason being that due to the current climate and economic impact of COVID-19, some businesses may not have many forward bookings to reference. You will also be asked to confirm if you are attending live or virtually as part of the process.

Every virtual attendee will have access to the following features:

  • Personalised online diary to pre-schedule appointments with the exhibitors in advance.
  • Video conferencing facilities to meet with exhibitors of your choice
  • Exhibitor recommendations based on their areas of interest
  • Live-streaming and on-demand educational content
  • Live and group chat functions to network with exhibitors and fellow buyers 

If you apply to the live event, please take note that due to COVID-19 social distancing measures we have had to make some changes to how we run the buyer programme at the show for this year, including removing the following elements of the programme:

  • Pre-show conference
  • Hosted buyer welcome reception
  • Post-show Fam Trips
  • Hosted Buyer lounge and cloakroom

I appreciate that these are popular elements of the buyer experience, but we are working hard to put together a fantastic education programme, streamed live and on-demand and have invested in new technology platforms that will still allow buyers to network effectively and build valuable connections in a safe and secure manner. There is still travel and accommodation assistance available for buyers who require it, and rather than a buffet lunch, you will be given vouchers redeemable at the venue catering outlets.

If you are travelling from overseas, I advise you to check your own government’s travel policy before registering to attend the live show.
