SpiceRoads Cycling has just unveiled a new road cycling tour in the growing travel destination of Vietnam. For the climbing enthusiast, this new tour routes through Northern Vietnam’s mountainous terrain, beginning in Hanoi and ending in the mountain village of Sapa.

Snaking through the Northwestern highlands, the tour passes through small Vietnamese and tribal villages set in some of Indochina’s most stunning scenery. Challenging daily rides are rewarded with fantastic views of verdant valleys, and Vietnam’s famous limestone karst peaks and rice-terraced hillside villages.

While average daily distances are around 100 kilometres, riders can expect to climb up to 2,000 meters per day, a considerable physical test. The final two days of riding prove the most demanding, as the tour builds to a peak before reaching Sapa, which sits at roughly 1,500 meters above sea level.

Part of a new range of innovative road cycling tours around the world, the tour in Northern Vietnam explores a new area of a popular destination. “Our new Road tours are a collection of rides to inspire, excite, and challenge road cyclists,” says SpiceRoads Managing Director Daniel Moylan. “This new route through Vietnam explores an area of the country that should be on every cyclist’s bucket list. Aside from the terrain, the local culture, cuisine, and scenery warrant their own visit!”

The new tour is priced at US$ 1,900 and includes all accommodation, expert cycling guides and full support team, most meals, and refreshments while riding. Brand name road bikes can be hired for US$ 200, and riders can enjoy their own room for the duration of the trip for an additional US$ 250.
