Twelve Viva Holidays agents from Australia and New Zealand travelled to the Island of Hawai‘i last week on an incentive famil hosted by Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania and Hawaiian Airlines.

With agents from both Australia and New Zealand eligible to attend, spots on the incentive famil to the Island of Hawai‘i were coveted.

Giselle Radulovic, Country Manager Australia for Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania said incentive famils were an opportunity to reward agents while educating them on the Hawaiian Islands.

“Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania runs dedicated island famils to provide a more detailed perspective on each Hawaiian Island. The experiences broaden agents’ understanding of the island and enable them to bring this knowledge back with them to Australia,” Ms Radulovic said.

The 6 day itinerary saw agents exploring the island of Hawai‘i, enjoying snorkelling, learning to roast coffee, ziplining through the treetops and taking a Volcano Tour through Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.

Joey Dadd, Reservations Sales Manager at Viva Holidays said the famil equipped agents with added expertise on the island of Hawai‘i.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for some of our Hawaii selling agents to get valuable firsthand experience on the island of Hawaii. There were numerous activities throughout the trip which meant we immersed ourselves in the Hawaiian culture, hospitality and spirit, gaining knowledge to better sell the destination,” Mr Dadd said.

Andrew Best, National Account Manager at Hawaiian Airlines said the agents enjoyed Extra Comfort seating on their flights from Sydney and Auckland through to Honolulu.

“Hawaiian Airlines’ Extra Comfort seating is an extremely popular product with Australian travellers so it was great to have Viva Holidays’ top Hawaii sellers experience it first hand as well as our authentic Hawaiian hospitality all the way through to Kona. Our guests also managed to take full advantage of our generous 2 x 32kg baggage allowance,” Mr Best said.
