This past weekend, The Knightly Order of “El Camino de Santiago” celebrated its 23rd ordinary chapter in Compostela and Melide since its conception.
In this event, participants from over 150 participants from 11 countries attended (Angola, Spain, USA, Cuba, Costa Rica, Italy, Philippines, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal and Switzerland). Charo Trabado, CEO of MITM Events, was invested as Lady of The Order among 31 others that were awarded the honor of becoming part of one of the oldest and most recognized knightly orders in the world.
With a Master in tourism, Charo Trabado began her professional carrier in 1985 in Grupo Convenco, becoming the Co-Founder of GSAR Marketing, a global sales company, marketing and communication specialized in the representation of international companies in the tourism sector. She has held important positions in the different companies represented by GSAR Marketing such as in Grupo Taca, American Airlines and Copa Airlines among others; accumulating over 30 years of experience in the industry.
Furthermore, Charo Trabado is the legal representative of the “Carta de Juan de La Cosa”, cartographic monument that was made in the year 1500 and in which for the first time in history the American continent is represented. The manual reproduction, elaborated in 1892 for the celebration of the fourth centenary of the discovery of America, was donated to GSAR Marketing in 1999.
Since 1997, she organizes the B2B trade shows MITM Events, worldwide pioneers in the meetings tourism (MICE) and cultural sector. As of today, 50 editions in 37 cities of 18 countries have been celebrated, including the MICE section of Fitur. She has worked with numerous international and governmental entities, institutions, associations and corporations during over a 30-year carrier; which makes her one of the most recognizable professionals in the industry.
The weekends program kicked off in the ”convento de San Francisco” with a liturgical act that consisted of presented offering by the present delegations. Sunday 21st the Order´s activity took place in the municipality of Melide, where the main activity was the planting of trees by the new members in the Woods of the Pilgrims, property of the Order, located in the “Camino Francés”, in which the newly invested Ladies and Knights walked a stretch of.
