Calling all gin lovers!

On Saturday 13th July, The Sanchaya is excited to play host to two of the Founders of Animus Distillery from Australia, with a masterclass and GIN-troduction taking place at the stunning island estate, which is located just 50-minutes away from Singapore.

Animus was founded in 2015 by two couples who share a passion for producing world-class spirits. Two of the Founders, Rob and Luke, will join in hosting the Masterclass. Rob and Luke first met at an event in Melbourne twelve years at an event; it was love at first sight! Their co-founders, Aaron and Joel, who first met in med school, were first introduced to the invigorating world of botanicals while on a trip to Tasmania. The pair were inspired by the variety of distilleries they visited and came back with fresh inspiration, plus their scientific acumen to start this project.

The original fermentation and distillation experiments started in small scale in Aaron and Joel’s garage, and Luke and Rob were quickly drawn into the excitement of learning more about the distillation process, and so the team of four best friends began their path to establishing Animus Distillery! The name Animus comes from the Latin word for the soul, which in this context refers to the soul and essence of rich, flavourful botanicals used in creating this spirit.

Capturing the soul of the freshest ingredients for their Gin is central to the Animus Distillery production philosophy. They use the highest grade of 100% Australian grain spirit, triple filtered using custom gravity-fed carbon filter system, to provide the purest base for capturing the soul of our botanicals.

The Animus Gin Discovery will begin at 5.30pm, where guests will be able to meet Rob and Luke and learn more about the gin making process at their distillery. Three gins will be tasted, with guests having the opportunity to mingle and learn more about the distillery and the gin industry.

The gin tasting session will be complimentary for in-house guests.
