Grand Hyatt Melbourne has been awarded Deluxe Accommodation Hotel of the Year at the 2018 TAA (Vic) Accommodation Awards for Excellence, announced at a gala dinner on Thursday 21 June, 2018. This prestigious and highly competitive award was one of five awards the hotel won at the industry event.

The five awards won by Grand Hyatt Melbourne were:

- Outstanding Achievement in Training
- Food and Beverage Services Employee of the Year – Sergio Diago
- Hotel Industry Rising Star (26 years of age and under) – Bounthavy Hasackda
- Revenue Manager Employee of the Year – Scott Nicholas
The TAA (Vic) Accommodation Awards for Excellence recognises Victoria’s finest accommodation hotels and venue staff and celebrates dedication and achievement in the hospitality industry. The voting criteria comprises of an industry peer vote and a mystery shopper judging process from a panel of industry professionals.
