UK based Tradewind Voyages has announced that their brand-new Golden Horizon, the world’s largest square-rigged sailing vessel, a near replica of the 1913-built ocean vessel, France II will be on her way to Australia in 2021 and will also offer circumnavigation cruises of our island continent.

Reported to retain the charm, adventure and romance of an historic ship, Golden Horizon will be sailing from the UK on her inaugural world voyage including a circumnavigation of Australia in 2021, with just 272 guests and a crew of 159, with the ambience on board described as intimate, relaxed and casually elegant.

Tradewind Voyages says it is committed to sustainability, with Golden Horizon powered by nature whenever possible and intending to sail, without using propulsion, for around 70% of the time, providing an authentic sailing experience.

On-board dining is said to offer something for all tastes and preferences, including healthy eating, sustainability and wellbeing, with alongside classic dishes, fresh, locally sourced produce procured to create regionally inspired menus, with one of the highlights of the day a full-service dinner served over two levels in the spectacular main dining room.

A selection of wines and beers are complimentary during meal hours in the main dining room for lunch and dinner and there is also 24-hour complimentary room service in selected cabin categories.

All 140 cabins and suites onboard Golden Horizon are outside facing, so guests can enjoy the breath-taking views, with the cabins described as beautifully appointed and suites evoke the luxury and facilities expected of a boutique cruise ship, whilst retaining charm, adventure and romance of a truly historic sailing vessel.

While Golden Horizon will be sailing from the UK on her inaugural world voyage the circumnavigation of Australia will depart Bali on 8 December 2021 and guests can partake in the full circumnavigation of Australia – or choose a leg of the voyage to discover a region they have always wanted to visit.

Christmas will be celebrated on the Great Barrier Reef and New Year watching fireworks off the Gold Coast, plus visiting Australia’s iconic ports including Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, plus the hidden gems of the Whitsunday Islands and Tasmania
