Latin America and Polar specialists, Chimu Adventures, celebrate their 15th birthday today. To mark this occasion, they have launched a competition giving participants a chance to win a trip for two to Antarctica including international flights from Australia, the UK or the US aboard their new vessel, the Ocean Endeavour.

In line with Chimu’s motto of ‘Live for Today’ and the belief that life is more interesting when you do, potential winners can visit this page where they are asked to submit a photo of themselves ‘living for today;’ give Chimu a reason why they should be selected and then share it with their friends and family in order to gain votes.

The lucky winner, plus travel companion, will embark on an 11-day expedition cruise of the Antarctic Peninsula departing on the 22nd November 2020. The prize, which includes return international flights from either Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, Los Angeles or New York to Buenos Aires; return domestic flights from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia; all airport transfers; and accommodation, excursions and food during the cruise, is valued at a huge AU$28 000/GBP16 000/ US$20 000.

This incredible trip will be aboard Chimu’s newly acquired polar vessel, the spacious and comfortable Ocean Endeavour, which Chimu will be operating from November 2020. It will start in Ushuaia, the very southern tip of South America, and will sail across the notorious Drake Passage towards the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula. On the Peninsula, passengers will step into the remote and ethereal world of sea ice, glaciers, penguins, seals, whales and seabirds.

Chimu Co-founder, Greg Carter enthuses: “For the last 15 years, Chimu have been taking travellers on incredible journeys to the great white continent and we are delighted that we will be giving two more guests the chance to experience this magical wilderness aboard our very own vessel, the Ocean Endeavour.”

The competition will run from now until 31st August 2019 with the winner being announced on 13th September 2019. Participants can find out more information and submit their entries here.
