Hilton Sydney has unveiled a $25 million renovation with all 587 of its guest rooms and suites having undergone extensive redesign and refurbishment.

Comprised of 40 suites and 547 rooms, all feature brand new soft furnishings including carpets and curtains, plus European tapware, recliners, bedside lights and 55” Smart TV’s.

“Hilton Sydney is an iconic property and we are so pleased to offer a reinvigorated product to our guests in 2021. Providing an upmarket guest experience while offering a gateway to Sydney’s CBD has always been a priority for the hotel,” said Hayden Hughes, general manager, Hilton Sydney.

“With the renovation, Hilton Sydney has further enhanced its position as the ideal base for travellers to immerse and explore Sydney from, and for business guests to meet and connect at”, he added.

After listening to guest needs, Hilton Sydney has added two new room types: the Corner Room and Family Room. The first offers two extra square meters and an extended view of the CBD’s spectacular skyline via an extra window. Family Rooms are made up of two connecting rooms, which can be purchased together for family travel ease.

Overseeing the design was Sydney based a+ design group who complemented the strong modernist form of the building with a contemporary interior finish, placing an emphasis on ensuring practicality and ease for the modern traveller.

Mike Watson, director, a+ design group said, “a fundamental design decision was an overhaul of the traditional desk setup which took up considerable floor space. In its place in each room and suite is an oversized Italian armchair and ottoman coupled with a custom table which guests can work or dine at”.

New artwork adorns the walls by three female artists, Camie Lyons, Angela Hayson and Bec Tarrant, with the artworks forming a beautiful balance between feminine and masculine expression. Both Camie and Angela are Sydney-based artists, Camie is well-known for her standout work across a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting and drawing; Angela’s practice is based on exploring landscape and her fascination of structures. Bec is an Australian Indigenous artist based in Queensland with her key focus on abstract artwork.
