Spread the love

In order to look after the welfare of our associates as well as our community, Hyatt Regency Bali started two projects under “Gift That Gives Back”.We are producing fabric masks to be given to the underprivileged communities of Bali as well as to be sold. All proceeds from the sold masks are used to buy materials to produce more products for the underprivileged communities.

The masks are made in-house by a team of associates supervised by our tailor, Gede using upcycled colourful batik fabric.

The first batch of donation was delivered on Wednesday, 15 April 2020, to Desa Telabah, Sukawati and Gianyar, where 60% of the population are elderly and / or work as farmers. The head of the village, Mr I Wayan Sarjata, expresses his gratitude for the much-needed masks. “This donation came just in time. A lot of people in our village cannot afford nor have access to masks,” mentioned Mr Sarjata.

Along with selling and donating face masks, our chefs are also making homemade sauces, pastes and sambal for those who want to recreate Omang Omang and Pizzaria dishes at home. There are 11 flavours to choose from, including our popular Sambal Bawang and Bolognese Ragout sauce. This creates a stream of income for us and local suppliers, and helps us retain our associates.

In line with Hyatt’s purpose of caring for people so they can be their best, Hyatt Regency Bali will continuously seek ways to contribute to those in need in this difficult situation.
