Luxury travellers can now sweep from Victoria’s grandest waterfront address to Whistler’s alpine playground in one carefully tailored journey with a seaplane doing the heavy lifting and not a baggage carousel in sight.
Fairmont Empress and Fairmont Chateau Whistler have launched the new Sea to Sky Experience, connecting two of British Columbia’s most celebrated destinations through a five-day luxury itinerary.
Designed by Canadian luxury travel specialist Entrée Canada, the package starts at CAD$18,050 per person. It combines landmark accommodation, personalised planning, private ground transport and one particularly scenic flight between coast and mountains.
The journey begins at Fairmont Empress, the stately “Castle on the Coast” overlooking Victoria’s Inner Harbour. The hotel blends more than a century of history with modern hospitality, elegant gardens, waterfront dining and its famous Tea at the Empress, proof that some traditions remain popular because they were splendid ideas in the first place.
Guests then board a Harbour Air seaplane for the flight towards Green Lake in Whistler. Weather permitting, the journey offers grandstand views across British Columbia’s islands, forests, waterways and mountain ranges. Travellers may fly by private charter or use scheduled seasonal services operating between May and September.
At the base of Blackcomb Mountain, Fairmont Chateau Whistler provides the alpine half of the equation. The resort offers sophisticated dining, restorative wellness treatments and ready access to Whistler’s year-round outdoor pursuits.
The package includes stays at both Fairmont properties, personalised itinerary planning and booking assistance from Entrée Canada, and luxury ground transportation in a Cadillac Escalade IQ through Fairmont Canada’s vehicle partnership with Cadillac.
It can also incorporate coastal, culinary, cultural, wellness and outdoor experiences selected around each guest’s interests.
The launch follows recognition for both hotels in the Travel + Leisure 2026 World’s Best Awards, with Fairmont Empress named Canada’s number-one city hotel and Fairmont Chateau Whistler named the country’s number-one resort, according to Fairmont’s official announcement.
For luxury travel advisers, the itinerary offers a compelling way to package two distinctly different British Columbia experiences without burdening clients with a conventional road transfer. One moment brings afternoon tea beside Victoria’s harbour; the next delivers mountain air, alpine wellness and scenery on an altogether larger scale.
It is polished, spectacular and unapologetically indulgent. Canada has never been short of scenery, of course. Fairmont and Entrée Canada have simply arranged for guests to admire considerably more of it and to do so from very comfortable surroundings.
