Australian travel agents can pack their passports and perhaps a willing roommate, with Wendy Wu Tours offering 50 per cent off the land-only cost of every remaining 2026 China departure.
The exclusive industry offer is designed to give agents first-hand knowledge of one of Asia’s most compelling destinations. Better still, an accompanying friend or companion can receive the same 50 per cent discount, provided both travellers share the same room.
It is a generous invitation at a timely moment. China continues to regain favour among Australian travellers, helped by improved air access, simpler entry arrangements and renewed interest in its history, cuisine and extraordinary landscapes. According to Wendy Wu Tours, Australian travel to China has risen 16 per cent during the past 12 months, based on Australian Bureau of Statistics data.
For agents, however, this is about more than securing an enviable holiday at half price. First-hand destination knowledge remains one of the travel industry’s most persuasive sales tools. A brochure can explain the Great Wall, but it cannot quite reproduce the feeling of standing on it—or the realisation that those “comfortable walking shoes” in the itinerary notes were not merely a polite suggestion.
Belinda Ward, Head of Sales at Wendy Wu Tours, said the incentive would help agents understand China’s growing appeal while experiencing the company’s touring product.
“We wanted to give our travel agent partners the opportunity to explore China firsthand and unpack why it’s quickly gaining popularity from Australian travellers. First-hand experience is incredibly valuable for our agent partners, so we’re delighted to offer this incentive. Whether travelling solo or bringing a friend, it’s a fantastic opportunity to explore China and experience the quality of our tours for themselves.”
Pandas, warriors and one formidable wall
Among the eligible itineraries is Wendy Wu Tours’ 10-day In Pursuit of Pandas journey through Beijing, Xi’an and Chengdu.
The fully inclusive tour brings together three of China’s biggest drawcards: the Great Wall, Xi’an’s Terracotta Warriors and Chengdu’s famously photogenic giant pandas. Two dedicated panda experiences are included—surely ample opportunity to observe creatures that have turned eating bamboo and avoiding deadlines into something approaching an art form.
The published land-only price starts from $5,080 per person, twin share. Under the agent offer, that cost falls to $2,540 per person, twin share, land only. Prices, availability and eligible departures remain subject to Wendy Wu Tours’ conditions and should be confirmed when booking.
The discount applies only to land arrangements. International airfares and any other costs not included in the selected itinerary remain additional.
Agents taking a companion must travel together and share the same accommodation booking. The company’s Agent Travel Policy and associated terms and conditions also govern the incentive.
With places limited on selected departures, interested agents should not treat this as one of those jobs destined to remain indefinitely at the bottom of the inbox.
Full details are available through a Wendy Wu Tours Business Development Manager or the company’s travel-agent portal. Agents should review the current incentive and applicable conditions before making travel arrangements.
