For more than a century, Sydney’s Christmas wishes passed through the General Post Office at Martin Place, as cards, letters and parcels set off to families across the country and around the world.
This year, The Fullerton Hotel Sydney will celebrate Christmas from 23 November to 31 December 2026 with an extensive festive dining programme. The hotel’s iconic Teddy Bear Christmas Tree, synonymous with its festive spirit and at the heart of the celebrations, will be on display in the heritage atrium from 26 November 2026.
The tree is a nod to Robbie and Lizzie, the much-loved teddy bears displayed in the lobby of sister hotel The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, standing five metres tall and dressed in hundreds of plush bears. Friends meet beneath its branches before afternoon tea, families gather for a photo, and for those working around Martin Place, it is a welcome sign that the year is drawing to a close.
Guests can gather for a Nutcracker-inspired afternoon tea at The Bar, featuring creative representations of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Mouse King, and a Festive Lunch Buffet at The Place, available throughout December. The hotel also offers two Fullerton Signature buffets on Christmas Day, with both seafood and classic lunch options.
A new cake shop created with Australian chocolatier Koko Black will also draw from The Nutcracker, offering co-branded Koko Black x The Fullerton Hotel Sydney chocolates.

Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Bar
Inspired by Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, this year’s Christmas Afternoon Tea names each creation for a character from the ballet, from the Sugar Plum Fairy, with plum jelly and vanilla plum Chantilly cream, to The Mouse King, with marzipan and dark chocolate cherry ganache. Festive Lunch Buffet
From 30 November to 24 December 2026, The Place will serve a daily Festive Lunch Buffet centred on the Jolly Postmaster’s Carvery, a nod to the building’s General Post Office history, with Christmas ham and turkey ballotine. View the full menu here.
