UMI Resort officially opened its doors to guests over the weekend, with every suite across the resort now open for bookings, marking the arrival of a major new luxury destination in the heart of Uluwatu, Bali.

Located just 200 metres from the iconic Uluwatu and Suluban beaches, the Australian-owned five-star resort has transformed one of Bali’s most sought-after coastal locations into an immersive luxury escape combining world-class hospitality, striking architectural design, premium wellness experiences and elevated dining.

Set across lush tropical grounds wrapped in more than 1.5 kilometres of landscaped gardens, UMI has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly into the natural beauty of the Bukit Peninsula, with the resort’s architecture inspired by the dramatic limestone cliffs and sea caves surrounding nearby Suluban Beach.

Curved architectural forms open toward cascading infinity pools, sculptural greenery and expansive open-air spaces, while natural materials, warm textures and layered landscaping create a destination that feels both internationally refined and deeply connected to Bali’s environment.

The official opening weekend represents the culmination of years of planning, design and construction, with the resort featuring 91 luxury suites, ranging from Deluxe Suites through to expansive Family Suites, all positioned around the resort’s signature pool and garden precincts.

“At UMI, we wanted to create something that feels genuinely special from the moment guests arrive,” said Founder Danil Flehan.

“Every part of the resort has been designed to deliver a luxury experience that feels immersive, relaxing and connected to the beauty of Uluwatu. From the architecture and landscaping through to the food, wellness and service experience, the detail throughout the property is incredible and we’re thrilled to have finally opened the doors.”

• Three-tier cascading infinity pools integrated throughout the resort
• A luxury spa and wellness sanctuary offering treatments
• Hot and ice plunge pools
• Poolside dining and cocktails

Luxury and sustainability have remained central to the project from the beginning, with recyclable materials, low-impact construction methods and reclaimed Indonesian teak incorporated extensively throughout the resort.

Custom interiors and furniture were produced in partnership with Wright Super Yacht Teak using recycled marine-grade teak originally sourced for some of Europe’s most prestigious superyachts, combining sustainability with exceptional craftsmanship.

Situated minutes from Bali’s leading beach clubs, cliff-top restaurants, spas and world-famous surf beaches including Bingin, Padang Padang and Dreamland, UMI is one of Bali’s standout new luxury openings for 2026.
