Spread the love

From Italian pizza to Alaskan adventures, a worldwide shore excursion sale promises tempting savings for cruise passengers planning their next escape.

On a cruise, the ship gets much of the glory. Yet ask guests about their best days, and the answer may start with a port, not a pool. Now you can spend less on what lies ashore.

Shore Excursions Group has put hundreds of tours on sale in its Fall Excursions Sale, which ends on 30 November 2026. The company says deals can reach 40 per cent off selected tours. That may tempt those set to cruise over Christmas or sail in 2027.

The group lists about 4,500 tours in more than 300 ports on its website. Its range covers local food, city sights, culture and wild places. All of which proves that a day in port need not end with a fridge magnet and a sore wallet.

From Naples pizza to the wilds of Alaska

In Naples, the Authentic Pizza-Making Lesson puts Italy’s most famous dish in the spotlight. A local guide shares the city’s pizza lore. Then a chef shows how dough, San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and basil become a classic meal. Guests eat the pizza, but this is more of a chef-led lesson than a full cooking class. They also have to make their own way back to the ship.

In Nassau, the Afternoon Tea Experience at the grand Graycliff Hotel offers a change of pace. Think Bahamian bush tea, fresh scones, small cakes, and fine chocolates made on-site. It is a rather neat way to swap the bustle of the port for an hour or two of calm.

In Ketchikan, Alaska, the Adventure Kart Expedition heads the other way. Guests ride off-road vehicles along forest tracks, with views of the Tongass National Forest. Drivers need a valid licence. Height and other safety rules also apply. This is one for those who prefer a dash of mud to a pot of tea.

A bargain still needs a good plan

For Aussie cruise fans and travel advisers, the sale adds choice at ports worldwide. But a cheap tour is no deal if it clashes with the ship’s sail-away time. Check tour length, pick-up points, return plans, access needs and booking terms. Prices can change, and the top discount will not apply to every trip.

The offer closes on 30 November 2026. See the deals on the Shore Excursions Group website. The best cruise tale may come from ashore. Just make sure you are back on board to tell it.
