LATAM Group was named ‘Airline of the Year’ by Air Transport World (ATW), the top category at the ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards, becoming the first Latin American airline to receive this recognition in the history of the awards.
The award will be presented on 10 December in Milan, Italy, during the 52nd ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards ceremony, where Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group, will accept the honour on behalf of LATAM Group.
“This recognition is a source of tremendous pride for everyone at LATAM and, above all, a testament to the commitment of our teams across the region. Over the past few years, we have worked to build a stronger, more efficient and more sustainable group, while expanding our connectivity and continuing to improve the experience we offer our customers. Being named ‘Airline of the Year’ reinforces our commitment to keep moving forward and continue connecting Latin America with the world,” said Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM.
The winners of the ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards are selected by a panel of editors and analysts from Air Transport World, Aviation Week and CAPA, with expertise in the business and operations of airlines, airports and the global air transport industry. The process includes several stages of evaluation, including a review of nominations, the development of a shortlist of candidates, the selection of finalists and a vote by the judging panel.
For ‘Airline of the Year’, the awards’ top category, the organisation selected LATAM in recognition of its strong financial performance, innovative management leadership, its role in driving the growth of air connectivity across Latin America and globally, commitment to sustainability and its outstanding air cargo operations.
