Digital travel platform Agoda has unveiled its latest Repeat Visitor Ranking, highlighting the top 10 destinations across Asia that keep travelers coming back for more. Based on bookings made during the first half of 2026, Agoda reveals that Bangkok has secured a place in the top three for the second year running, only coming behind Tokyo, which claimed first place this year. Rounding out the top five are Bali, which has ranked third for the first time, followed by Seoul and Osaka. Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei, and Johor Bahru complete the top 10 list.
For Thailand, Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Hat Yai once again took the top five spots among repeated visit Thai destinations for the second year in a row. The same five cities retain the very same order as last year. Each city draws travelers back for a different reason: Bangkok as a base for regional wellness trips, Phuket for long-stay and workation travelers, Pattaya as a family-friendly escape, Chiang Mai for slow travel and digital nomads, and Hat Yai as a weekend getaway for visitors from Malaysia and Singapore.

Japan and Vietnam also stood out as rising repeat destinations this year. Beyond Tokyo, the ranking also points to a growing appetite for fresh discoveries. For example, Fukuoka’s debut in the top 10 for the first time reflects the growing pull of Japan’s secondary cities. Known locally as Hakata, the city has plenty to offer on its own, with legendary tonkotsu ramen, lively street food culture, and easy access to the rest of Kyushu. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s Da Nang has climbed two spots to sixth place, with its stunning beaches, proximity to UNESCO sites like Hoi An, and excellent value drawing visitors back repeatedly.
Some destinations have a way of calling travelers back for more. The chance to discover new attractions, revisit fond favorites, or simply enjoy the familiar surroundings keep travelers booking again and again. Agoda’s data shows that these beloved places often attract repeat visits, with some travelers returning multiple times in just the first half of the year.
Akaporn Rodkong, Country Director, Thailand and Indochina at Agoda, shared, “Travel is becoming less about ticking destinations off a list and more about finding places worth returning to. A repeat visit does not necessarily mean repeating the same trip. Travelers may return to a familiar city for a favorite restaurant or neighborhood while discovering something new each time. At Agoda, we’re here to make it easy for travelers to keep discovering whether they’re returning to an old favorite or finding somewhere new.”
For travelers looking to revisit their favorite destinations or discover new ones, Agoda offers over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities, all of which can be combined in a single booking.
