Spread the love

Now welcoming guests, Nuju Uluwatu introduces a destination where Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage is thoughtfully woven into every aspect of the guest journey. Inspired by the meaning of nuju—”towards”—the adults-only property brings together architecture, craftsmanship, culture, wellness, and hospitality, inviting guests to connect with the spirit of the Indonesian archipelago.

Now open, Nuju Uluwatu is also proud to be part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, joining a distinguished global collection of exceptional independent properties known for their authentic character, outstanding hospitality and unforgettable guest experiences.

Rather than drawing inspiration from a single region, Nuju celebrates the diversity of Indonesia. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the stories, artistry, and traditions found across the archipelago, creating an environment where every stay becomes an opportunity to experience Indonesia from a new perspective.

“Nuju was created with a simple vision: to celebrate Indonesia through thoughtful hospitality,” said Yohanes Barlianto, General Manager of Nuju Uluwatu. “Every detail has been carefully considered so that our guests can appreciate the beauty of Indonesian craftsmanship, culture, and traditions in a setting that feels contemporary, welcoming, and genuine.

A Journey Through Indonesia

At Nuju, every detail reflects the richness and diversity of Indonesia.

Inspired by the timeless forms of traditional Indonesian homes, the architecture combines natural materials, layered rooflines, generous gardens, and open spaces to create a setting that feels connected to nature while embracing contemporary comfort.

Each accommodation tells a different chapter of Indonesia’s story. The One Bedroom Pool Villa and Two Bedroom Garden Pool Villa draw inspiration from Western Indonesia, expressed through calming green tones, handcrafted batik, and refined details that evoke timeless elegance. Meanwhile, the One Bedroom Cabana Pool Villa and Two Bedroom Signature Pool Villa celebrate Eastern Indonesia, featuring elegant blue palettes, woven textiles inspired by Flores, and carefully curated design elements that honour the region’s rich artistic traditions.

Throughout the property, artworks, handcrafted furnishings, decorative objects, and locally inspired materials have been carefully selected to celebrate artisans from across the Indonesian archipelago, creating spaces that are both contemporary and unmistakably Indonesian.

Culture is woven naturally into each stay through a curated programme of daily experiences. From batik painting and storytelling to traditional dance, guests are invited to engage with Indonesia’s living traditions through participation and connection.

Wellness continues the journey through moments inspired by Indonesia’s enduring traditions of balance and healing. Spa rituals, a sauna, cold plunge, and fitness facilities offer opportunities to restore both body and mind throughout the day.

At the heart of the property is Sana Restaurant, a welcoming gathering place where Modern Australian cuisine is thoughtfully interpreted through the vibrant flavours of Asia. Guided by seasonal ingredients and honest, approachable cooking, Sana welcomes guests from morning through evening across its lounge, indoor dining room, tropical garden, and poolside, creating a relaxed destination for both resort guests and the local community.

Inspired by Balance

Balance is at the heart of Nuju. It shapes the rhythm of each day, where lifestyle, wellness, culture, and dining come together with intention.

Guests are invited to create their own journey—whether through restorative spa rituals, movement in the fitness studio, moments of renewal in the sauna and cold plunge, hands-on cultural experiences, or shared meals at Sana Restaurant. Every element has been thoughtfully curated to encourage meaningful connections with both the destination and oneself.

“Today’s travellers are looking for places that offer authenticity and a genuine sense of connection,” added Yohanes Barlianto. “At Nuju, we hope every journey is shaped by balance—between wellness and lifestyle, culture and contemporary living, moments of exploration and moments of rest. Above all, we hope our guests leave with a lasting appreciation for Indonesia and the warmth of its people.”

Now open, Nuju Uluwatu welcomes guests to begin their own journey through Indonesia—a place where thoughtful design, meaningful experiences, and heartfelt hospitality come together in harmony.
