Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), is marking Singapore’s 61st year of independence by celebrating the everyday heroes who make a difference in the lives of others. In collaboration with Care Corner and TOUCH Community Services, Scoot hosted 15 community heroes on its themed Spider-Man: Brand New Day flight with a memorable getaway to Nanjing, China, from 30 July to 2 August 2026.
Since 2023, Scoot has sought meaningful ways to celebrate National Day with fellow Singaporeans. From bringing a part of Singapore to Singaporeans living overseas, to bringing family members together on shared trips, these initiatives have connected individuals, families, and now, communities. Aligned with this year’s National Day theme of “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, rallying citizens to do better for Singapore by showing care and concern for one another and the wider community, Scoot reached out to Care Corner and TOUCH Community Services to identify volunteer profiles who have exemplified selflessness and brought about positive impacts to the lives of others. As part of the backbone of Singapore’s social safety net, volunteers are the silent heroes whose everyday acts of service embody the spirit of heroism. This group of people juggle multiple commitments in their personal and professional lives and oftentimes forget that they require care and rest as well.
A highlight of the trip included an experience on Scoot’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day themed aircraft, an ode to the heroic spirits they exemplify daily. The volunteers enjoyed an immersive inflight experience with special decals and headrest covers in the cabin interior, music from Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a special welcome message from Spider-Man during boarding and exclusive merchandise. Beyond the flight, they also explored the historic city of Nanjing through a curated programme of cultural experiences, connected with fellow volunteers, and made lasting memories together.
