Royal Caribbean is meeting this shift by introducing a new ‘open-jaw’ holiday format for the Spectrum of the Seas 2027/2028 season. Unlike a traditional loop, these one-way holidays allow guests to arrive in one city and depart from another, acting as a seamless link between land-based adventures.
With Japan recently overtaking Bali as Australia’s #1 holiday destination, this new format removes the need for internal flights, transforming the transit between the region’s most iconic hubs into the main event.
For the first time, Australians can bridge the vibrant streets of Shanghai and Seoul with the majesty of Mt Fuji before arriving in Tokyo, effectively doubling their discovery time without retracing a single step:
