There’s an old truth in travel: the big end of town gets the best toys first. The rest make do, improvise, and quietly wonder what might have been.

This week, that gap narrowed, if only a little.

CT Partners has struck a fresh agreement with Magnatech Travel Management Solutions to roll out its OnTrackplus® system more broadly across its membership. The headline? Smaller corporate agencies, often the most resourceful yet least resourced, will now gain access to technology that has largely belonged to their larger rivals.

It may not sound glamorous. In truth, it isn’t. But in corporate travel, the unglamorous is often where the money sits.

OnTrackplus® deals with unused airline ticket credits, the industry’s equivalent of loose change down the back of the sofa. Individually insignificant, collectively substantial, and historically very easy to lose track of. For years, agencies have relied on manual processes, spreadsheets, and the occasional hopeful guess to keep tabs on them. It’s not just inefficient; it’s risky.

This is where the system earns its keep.

By automating credit calculations and tracking tickets through their various states, unused, exchanged, refunded or quietly expired, it replaces human error with something far more reliable. It also sheds light on what has long been a murky corner of agency operations.

And time, as any consultant will tell you, is rarely on their side.

The promise here is straightforward: fewer hours spent chasing data, fewer mistakes that invite ADM penalties, and a clearer view of client funds that might otherwise slip away unnoticed.

Paul Gioia, CEO of Magnatech, sees it as a matter of access as much as efficiency.

“We’re thrilled to extend OnTrackplus to select CT Partners members through this new umbrella agreement. Many of their agencies already trust our technology; this arrangement allows a group of high-performing, smaller corporate agencies to benefit from volume-based pricing and a streamlined billing framework. Our goal is to make powerful tools more accessible, reduce manual processes, and most importantly, ensure that no money is left on the table for their corporate clients.”

There’s a certain logic to it. If the technology works, and by most accounts it does, then widening its reach is less a leap of faith and more a correction.

Matt Masson, Chief Executive Officer of CT Partners, puts it more plainly.

“CT Partners exists to enable independent agencies to thrive. This agreement ensures our smaller members can access the same high-quality technology. By offering OnTrackplus under a centralised billing model, we’re reaffirming our commitment to fairness, transparency, and empowering members with tools that deliver real results.”

Behind the corporate language sits a familiar industry tension: independence versus scale. Smaller agencies pride themselves on agility and service, but too often find themselves priced out of the systems that would make both easier.

This agreement doesn’t rewrite the rules, but it nudges them in a fairer direction.

And in a sector still recalibrating after years of disruption, where airline credits became both lifeline and logistical headache, that matters more than it might first appear.

Because in travel, as ever, it’s not just about where the client is going.

It’s about making sure nothing gets left behind.
