Egypt is reinforcing its presence in the Russian travel market at MITT Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition, one of Eastern Europe’s largest tourism events. With demand for warm, sun-soaked Red Sea destinations surging, Egypt has firmly established itself as the top choice for Russian travelers seeking relaxing, all-inclusive seaside escapes enriched by culture and world-class hospitality.
Russia has emerged as one of Egypt’s most important growth markets. In 2025, Russian arrivals reached approximately 2 million visitors, nearly doubling from around 1.19 million the previous year. This growth outpaces Egypt’s already strong overall tourism increase, as the country welcomed approximately 19 million international tourists, a 21% rise compared to 2024.
“Russian travelers have long appreciated Egypt’s unique blend of seaside leisure, cultural discovery, and warm hospitality,” said Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. “Our goal is to continue strengthening this partnership by offering experiences that combine relaxation, heritage, and modern tourism infrastructure.”

Russian travelers are traditionally drawn to the Red Sea coast for comfortable, all-inclusive resort stays, while increasingly seeking diverse cultural, historical, and adventure experiences across the country.
Diving and Marine Experiences – The Red Sea’s clear waters and vibrant coral reefs, home to over 1,200 fish species, remain a major attraction. Russian tourists seek snorkeling and diving opportunities for all skill levels. Destinations such as Hurghada, Sharm el‑Sheikh, and South Sinai offer reliable year-round sunshine and warm waters, making them ideal escapes from cold winters.
All-Inclusive and Family-Friendly Resorts – Resorts providing comprehensive packages with leisure programs, water parks, and family-oriented activities continue to appeal to Russian visitors. Egypt currently offers approximately 1,247 accommodation facilities with over 222,700 rooms, ranging from luxury resorts to boutique hotels.
Luxor and Aswan: Cultural Excursions – Many travelers combine beach holidays with visits to Egypt’s ancient monuments. Excursions to Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, and the temples and monuments of Luxor and Aswan remain highly popular among visitors staying along the Red Sea.

With a national strategy aiming to attract 30 million visitors annually by 2028, Egypt is investing heavily in infrastructure, hospitality, and destination development.
