TCEB New - LogoIn a powerful show of resilience and readiness, Thailand has affirmed its unwavering commitment to safety and international cooperation as Bangkok swiftly returns to normal operations following the 28 March earthquake in neighboring Myanmar. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has confirmed that Bangkok remains a safe, secure, and fully operational destination for international business events, conferences, and exhibitions.

With minimal disruption to city infrastructure and a rapid, coordinated emergency response, Thailand has stood firm, reinforcing its reputation as a world-class MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. On 31 March, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) officially dissolved the Earthquake Incident Command Center, signaling the full restoration of normalcy.

“Thailand’s business event sector remains strong, safe, and fully functional. Our commitment to visitor safety and infrastructure integrity is unwavering,” said a TCEB spokesperson in an official update.

Inspections Completed, Confidence Restored

In the immediate aftermath of the tremors felt in Bangkok, concerns were raised over the structural integrity of high-rise buildings. Taking no chances, the Thai government and private sector swiftly mobilized teams of independent engineers to inspect affected structures.

The BMA has since confirmed that most inspected buildings are structurally sound, with most falling within the “green” category, indicating no significant risk. These inspections reflect the stringent safety protocols embedded in Thailand’s construction and building management systems.

Business Events Proceeding Without Delay

Among the first international events to reaffirm its schedule is the much-anticipated Thailand MICE X-Change (TMX) 2025, organized by the Thai Exhibition Association with support from TCEB. Set to take place 2–3 April at Paragon Hall in central Bangkok, TMX 2025 signals to the global community that Thailand is open for business—without compromise.

“This is more than just an event; it’s a testament to Thailand’s ability to bounce back, reassure international partners, and host events at the highest level,” said an industry insider involved in TMX.

TCEB further confirmed that all major venues across the capital are fully operational, with event schedules proceeding normally since Saturday, 29 March, following comprehensive infrastructure evaluations.

Transport, Hotels, and Attractions Fully Operational

Thailand’s seamless urban mobility systems, including the BTS Skytrain and MRT underground, run without disruption, ensuring uninterrupted access to major convention centers and hotels for business travellers and event delegates.

Bangkok’s airports, intercity trains, shopping malls, and hospitality services are fully operational, welcoming visitors with the efficiency and grace that defines the Thai experience.

This swift return to normalcy is no surprise to industry veterans, who have long praised Thailand for its crisis management proficiency, supported by robust collaboration between government agencies and the private sector.

The earthquake may have sent ripples, but Thailand’s response has sent a louder message: Business continues, and guests are always welcome.
