Australia’s fastest growing apartment hotel operator, the Veriu Group, has sustained the roll out of its successful Punthill apartment hotel accommodation model with last night’s official opening of Punthill Tuggeranong – its first ACT property, and its first office conversion.

The event was attended by over 60 guests including Veriu Group CEO, Zed Sanjana; Group co-owner and founder, Alex Thorpe; developer, Matt James; and Member for Brindabella and Tuggeranong resident, Caitlin Tough MLA, who assisted Sanjana for the hotel’s official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Located in Greenway, one of Canberra’s major commercial and government hubs, Punthill Tuggeranong is the first hotel to open in the area in over 12 years, and it’s an impressive transformation.

The former Tuggeranong Innovation Centre Office Precinct has been converted into a stylish state-of-the-art 76-apartment hotel, offering a mix of modern studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, designed to accommodate solo and group travel, for business or leisure. Each apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, smart TV, desk and fast, high-quality internet, in-room laundry facilities and secure on-site parking, making the hotel the perfect option for both business and leisure travellers seeking the comforts of home.

The new hotel’s convenient location close to key Government offices including Services Australia, the Australian National University, the Canberra Hospital, Questacon and the Caroline Chisholm Centre, as well as several of Canberra’s major transportation hubs and other amenities, are all expected to enhance its appeal to both short-term and long-term corporate guests. Likewise the new hotel is expected to provide an attractive proposition for the growing influx of leisure travellers visiting the Capital’s popular landmarks and tourist attractions, attending its many festivals and events, or on route to and from the snowfields.

For Sanjana, this makes it a natural fit with the Group’s existing portfolio of properties.

The third property to open in the past four months, Punthill Tuggeranong also marks the debut of the Group’s first office conversion and brings the total number of properties  in the Group’s rapidly expanding portfolio to 25, following the recent opening of its first regional hotel, Punthill Maitland in the NSW Hunter Valley and Punthill Sunshine in Melbourne’s expanding western corridor.

A number of other projects are also nearing completion including its latest Veriu hotel –  Veriu Macquarie Park in Sydney and its first South Australian property and second office conversion, Veriu Adelaide on King William Street, both set to open early next year.

More announcements about the opening of new Veriu and Punthill apartment hotels at various sites are expected from the Veriu Group in the coming months.
