Madi Paidi Bangkok, Autograph Collection, the stylish boutique hotel which brings the art of storytelling to life, is inviting its distinguished guests and discerning local residents to discover “The Wonder of Wine” this month, with an exclusive event at EKKALUCK, its innovative signature restaurant, in partnership with The Wine Merchant.
For one night only, on Saturday November 30th, 2024 (18:30 – 20:30 hrs), guests can come together for an enchanting evening of fine wine and creative cuisine. A selection of seven premium wines – three reds, three whites, and one Champagne – will be available, including labels from leading wineries in France, Italy and Austria.
The 1818 Brut NV by Billecart-Salmon is an elegant French Champagne with notes of citrus and apple, while Domaine François Carillon Cap au Sud (2021) is a vibrant Chardonnay that pairs perfectly with light Thai flavors, Masciarelli Trebbiano D’Abruzzo (2022) is a crisp white from Italy’s Abruzzo DOC region with notes of citrus and almond, and Veyder-Malberg Wachauer Liebedich Gruner Veltliner (2022) is a light white wine from Austria’s Wachau Valley which is wonderful with grilled seafood and Thai salads.
Fans of red wine can enjoy a choice of two exceptional French vintages: Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette (2022), a fruity Beaujolais which pairs excellently with Thai spices and grilled meats, and Les Chenes de Macquin by Pavie Macquin (2019), a full-bodied Bordeaux which complements Thailand’s rich curries. Finally, Francesco Rinaldi Nebbiolo d’Alba (2021) is a classic Italian Nebbiolo with floral and cherry notes – great with grilled beef or spicy salads.
Amid a relaxed, social atmosphere, guests can mix, mingle and sip these seven wines whilst they savor a curated menu from EKKALUCK’s highly acclaimed Executive Chef Teerathep “Tor” Tishabhiromya, who uses high-quality ingredients to craft his original style of Thai gastronomy.
The three white wines and Champagne will complement Chef Tor’s pan-seared USA scallop with spicy chili-lime cream dressing, fresh summer rolls with green herbs and chili dressing, chicken satay with peanut sauce in a crispy golden cup with cucumber pickled gel, and grilled Canadian lobster tail on crispy puffed rice with green curry sauce. The three red wines meanwhile, provide the ideal accompaniment to spicy grilled Thai wagyu sirloin salad, grilled pork neck with spicy tamarind sauce & crispy shallots, and slow-cooked massaman beef curry with mashed potato. Guests can also savor a charcuterie of cold cuts and European cheeses.
