This week’s release is about exploring remote and often hard-to-navigate rivers in specially designed luxury small ships. Of further interest is these expedition cruises are closer to home. Pandaw industry rates have been renewed, and TIC members are offered a generous discount.
Pandaw operates a fleet of 17 ships hand-crafted in brass and teak, built for purpose by Pandaw themselves. While luxury and comfort are ever-present, the colonial-era character and friendly atmosphere predominate on the ships. All Pandaw ships have ultra-shallow drafts and can travel to remote areas unreachable by other passenger-carrying vessels, let alone overland.
The Pandaw story begins with the Old Irrawaddy Flotilla Company, revived in 1995 by Burma historian Paul Strachan, a Scot—an exciting read.
Pandaw’s areas of operation are the rivers Vietnam, Cambodia, and India. It is about discovering the beauty and culture of these remote and unique areas.
