The San Antonio Spurs today announced plant-based performance water Barcode as the team’s exclusive performance water. Barcode, the leading performance drink for hydration, previously announced Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama as the face of its brand in 2023. Wembanyama is also a Barcode investor and brand partner.
As part of the partnership, Barcode will be represented at all Spurs home games in bench equipment, including bottles, coolers and towels, and will serve as presenting partner of the Spurs Human Performance x Equity program and co-presenting partner of Spurs Sports Academy Summer Camps, in addition to digital and social programming throughout the season. Barcode will also serve as the official performance water of San Antonio FC.
“This partnership represents our continued commitment to grow Barcode globally and to provide world class athletes with a premium hydration offering, ” said Mubarak “Bar” Malik, CEO and Founder of Barcode. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Spurs and further our shared commitment to provide the very best to not only Wemby, but the entire Spurs franchise. ” Malik continued.
Barcode products are the first ever plant-based, all-natural performance drink on the market with added benefits and ingredients, including Vitamin D, B6, B12, magnesium and ashwagandha and no added sugar. As a brand partner, Wembanyama participates in the company’s research and development on future products and has played an especially active role in the brand’s future product release, which is set to launch soon.
“Barcode is a superior product that was created with a spirit of excellence that the Spurs admire and emulate,” Frank Miceli, Chief Commercial Officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “As an industry disruptor, Barcode embodies the very same qualities that have shaped our team’s legacy – innovation, creativity and a pursuit of the next challenge. We are honored to join Victor in aligning with this unique and trailblazing brand as we continue to elevate our business and strive for success, on and off the court.”
