The Star Brisbane has opened bookings for the first of its highly anticipated food and beverage experiences, offering locals and visitors the opportunity to be among the first to secure a front-row seat to the resort’s opening from 29 August.
From The Star’s stand-out Japanese restaurant Sokyo and the new iteration of Luke Nguyen’s iconic Fat Noodle to dining under the stars at the awe-inspiring Sky Deck venues and fresh new offerings from the who’s who of Brisbane culinary, there will be something for everyone as The Star Brisbane’s much-anticipated staged opening begins next week.
The Star Brisbane Chief Executive Officer Daniel Finch said the calibre of venues set to call The Star Brisbane home was testament the city’s continuous evolution and willingness to look beyond the expected to create culinary destinations that feel unique to Queensland.
“We have been overwhelmed by the level of interest in the experiences we’ve announced to date and are thrilled to open the first bookings in anticipation for our staged opening from Thursday 29 August,” said Mr Finch.
“With a full calendar of events over the next three months, including Brisbane Festival, football finals, Melbourne Cup and end of year festivities, The Star Brisbane will support our booming city by providing exceptional hospitality and entertainment throughout the resort.
“We have no doubt that Brisbane is in for a treat with a variety of day and night venues to open between August and November, catering to all tastes and appetites.
“We can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors to enjoy their new precinct and look forwards seeing the growth and success of Brisbane as the resort and wider Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct continues to evolve throughout the rest of the year and into 2025.”

With Executive Chef Alex Yu at the helm of Sokyo Brisbane, the chef who sold out six consecutive weeks of his Melbourne Omakase experience in just nine minutes, there’s sure to be demand for the sought-after Japanese venue opening for dinner reservations from 5.00pm, Thursday 29 August.
Renowned for its traditional Japanese cooking techniques, Sokyo delivers unexpected twists to the dining experience, taking the ordinary to extraordinary. The creative collision of Ritual Meets Art brings theatre to the entire sensory experience, whilst incorporating the finest Queensland produce to infuse a modern, localised touch.
A selection of Sokyo’s most sought-after dishes will make their debut in Brisbane, including Spicy Tuna on a bed of Crispy Rice and Hiramasa Kingfish garnished with Miso Ceviche and Crispy Potato. Accompanying the beloved dishes are a variety of enticing new flavours crafted from the finest Japanese ingredients, such as superfoods Maitake Mushroom and Ume Plum sourced locally within 20km of the resort.
Alongside Sokyo, The Star Brisbane will open a range of dining and entertainment destinations from 29 August, including Celebrity Chef Luke Nguyen’s dynamic South-East Asian street food favourite Fat Noodle, a sprawling Sports Bar, live entertainment venue LiveWire, lively cocktail bar Cherry and one-stop café Food Quarter – all welcoming walk-ins.
From sparkling soirées, intimate dinner parties and celebratory occasions, The Star Brisbane has also launched group bookings for Sokyo, Fat Noodle and Sports Bar, allowing guests to reserve private dining and booth experiences.
Sokyo’s custom-designed circular semi-private dining room has the ability to host up to 16 people, offering guests an intimate yet unparalleled dining experience. While Fat Noodle’s semi-private dining room can cater to 24 – 30 people, treating guests to an exclusively authentic South-East Asian culinary journey in the heart of the action.
For those who live and breathe their sport, The Star’s showstopping Sports Bar will offer exclusive packages for 10 – 15 people across its three VIP booths, guaranteeing a superior viewing position (large enough to accommodate an entire NRL football team) and a next-level menu to ensure the most avid fans never miss a second of the action.
