Victoria. Mount William Station is thrilled to announce that its Annual Polo Tournament and Fieldside Long Lunch will be returning on October 26 – 27, 2024. Taking place at the foothills of the breathtaking Grampians National Park, this event will be a weekend full of top-notch horsemanship and grassroots polo excitement. Accompanied by a Fieldside Long Lunch hosted by celebrated MasterChef and Logie winner, Sarah Todd, and sponsored by Itinerant Spirits, Bests Wines, and MGI Entertainment, the weekend is sure to be a culinary delight.
Kicking off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, the tournament will begin with exhilarating matches on the Mount William Station polo field and an indulgent grazing table in the Mount William Marquee for our Fieldside Long Lunch guests. Paired with a selection of specialty cocktails By Itinerant Spirits and a selection of premium Bests Wines, the gourmet array will highlight the best that the Grampians has to offer.
For the second year in a row, MasterChef Sarah Todd, will be hosting the Fieldside Long Lunch. Revered for her impressive culinary expertise, including a standout performance on MasterChef, Sarah Todd has elevated the dining experience at the Mount William Station Polo Tournament. As remarked by Mount William Station owner, Will Abbott, “Sarah’s remarkable accomplishments, her persona, and commitment to using locally sourced ingredients have aligned seamlessly with the essence of our event. Her presence here undoubtedly infused an added layer of sophistication into our guests’ experience”.
Starting at midday, the Fieldside Long Lunch will take place in the Mount William Marquee, positioned right next to the polo field. Backset by the breathtaking Grampians National Park, the Mount William Marquee is located next to the player’s facilities, making it a prime position for spectator’s to be immersed in the action. Alongside Sarah Todd’s gourmet lunch, refreshments will be available at the open Polo Bar. Tickets for the Fieldside Long Lunch are limited to create an intimate setting for spectators to enjoy the matches and are available now on Eventbrite.
Following the polo matches, we invite you to join the players and a select group of the polo fraternity for a relaxed, gourmet BBQ. Prepared by Mount William Station’s head chef, Dean Sibthorp, the dinner is the perfect way to cap off an eventful day of action-packed matches. Take in the countryside atmosphere and meet the players to learn more about the deep-seeded history of polo at Mount William Station and in regional Victoria.
To keep the action going, Sunday will see another set of gripping polo matches to determine who will take home the 2024 Mount William Station Polo Cup.
Tickets for the Mount William Station Polo Tournament and Fieldside Long Lunch are now available on Eventbrite. Long lunch tickets are limited and start at $190 per person. Tickets to watch the polo matches are free but require registration. Food and drinks will be available to purchase on the day. Additional hospitality packages including a picnic hamper for two, and private marquee group packages (up to 20 people) are also available.
