PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Melbourne’s premier airport hotel, has revealed a new Asian-Australian fusion menu for onsite all-day dining facility Airo Restaurant. Debuting alongside the restaurant’s refurbishment, the menu offers those travelling through Melbourne Airport delicious fare amid comfortable and stylish surrounds.

The new menu, created by PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport’s Executive Chef Jee Whan Lee, brings together locally sourced produce with flavours and spices from Asia in recognition of PARKROYAL’s Singaporean heritage.

Diverse options are available throughout the day, from a breakfast brioche or lunch of Local Burrata with Crispy Speck to signature dinner dishes incorporating local produce, such as Lamb Rack from Mount Leura or Black Angus Beef Eye Fillet from West Gippsland. The heroes of the show are the Asian-inspired dishes, for instance Thai Marinated Southern Calamari and Tandoori Yarra Quail.

For some between-flight snacks, Pacific Oysters, Cheesy Wagyu Meatballs, Korean Fried Chicken and Artisan Local Cheese Platters are just some of the diverse options on offer.

The extensive refurbishment of Airo Restaurant and the neighbouring Airo Café and Airo Bar offers a peaceful alternative to the hustle and bustle of airport environments. Featuring neutral materials, calming colours, and natural daylight with views of the airport terminals and departing planes, the food and beverage area’s seating zones include open spaces, private dining areas and workstations.

Guests can also access Wi-Fi and a live screen showing domestic and international arrivals and departures, providing an added layer of convenience to their dining experience. Once their flight time approaches, guests can access the airport within minutes via an undercover pedestrian skybridge connecting the hotel with Melbourne Airport’s terminals.

Cameron Mead, General Manager of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, said the new Airo Restaurant will provide a stylish and convenient dining option away from the foot traffic of the airport. “The new Airo Restaurant caters to every need, providing a space for corporate travellers to catch up on emails over lunch, a comfortable spot for friends to enjoy snacks during lengthy stopovers, and enough space for families to relax and feast on a wide range of dishes suited to the choosiest of palates,” he said.

“Hotel guests or those purchasing Short Stay Hourly Accommodation at PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport can combine their meal with a swim in our pool or a workout in our gym, and once they’re done, they have the quickest and most accessible walk to the airport of any of the hotels in the precinct.”

The new-look Airo Restaurant is part of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport’s multi-million-dollar refurbishment, which was unveiled in May. The hotel lifted the curtain on 276 guest rooms showcasing a colour palette inspired by Australian lifestyles and nature, the lobby, which will create a voluminous, light-filled arrival space, and more.

The launch also follows the recent introduction of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport’s Short Stay Hourly Accommodation offering, which allows guests to make use of a guest room and the hotel’s 24-hour gymnasium, heated indoor lap pool, spa, sauna, and steam room for three, five or eight hours.

PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport has also recently won numerous industry awards, including the 2023 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award and Oceania’s Leading Airport Hotel award at the World Travel Awards for 2023.
