The Star Brisbane is set to redefine luxury as it opens its doors for bookings on August 29, 2024. This momentous event marks the debut of one of Australia’s most anticipated resorts, located within the transformative $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. Guests are invited to experience five-star elegance with breathtaking views and opulent accommodations.
At the heart of this grand development lies The Star Grand, a five-star hotel that promises a luxurious escape for locals and tourists. Boasting 340 exquisitely designed rooms, The Star Grand offers a range of options from contemporary River King and City King Rooms to the sophisticated open-plan River and City Suites. The pinnacle of luxury is the four Skyline Penthouse Suites, each offering unparalleled grandeur and stunning views of Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane’s Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Finch, expressed excitement about this milestone. “We are thrilled to invite guests to experience the grand possibilities that await at The Star Grand. With its floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular views, The Star Grand will be the perfect vantage point for events like the Brisbane Festival, Footy Finals, Melbourne Cup, and the festive season.”
As part of the multi-staged opening, guests will enjoy new experiences with each visit, including culinary delights and the unveiling of hotel pools, a steam room, a sauna, and a gym. The Star Grand’s strategic location within the Queen’s Wharf precinct will enhance Brisbane’s appeal, offering compelling reasons for both domestic and international visitors to explore Queensland significantly ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Star Grand will serve as a gateway to a world of discovery within the new 12-hectare riverside precinct. When guests arrive, they are greeted by a breathtaking 21-meter glass oculus, welcoming Brisbane’s warmth and light. This grand entrance features First Nations artist Tony Albert’s 15-meter floating botanical sculpture, “Inhabitant.”
The Lobby, adorned with a bespoke hand-made glass Lasvit lighting installation, leads guests to The Star’s award-winning Japanese restaurant, Sokyo. Upon checking in, guests ascend through the resort, occupying Levels 8 to 17 across two river-facing towers. The design of each room, crafted by the international design studio Hassell, draws inspiration from Brisbane’s subtropical landscape, featuring extraordinary Calacatta Viola and the curves of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.
The Star Grand Brisbane’s 340 rooms include 276 standard rooms offering city or river views. Each features The Star’s signature bedding, dual rain showerheads, and integrated in-room technology. For those seeking lavish accommodations, the hotel’s 60 suites, including River Suites, City Suites, and Skyline City Suites, range between 75-113 sqm and offer spacious open-plan living areas, king beds, and luxurious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs.
The epitome of luxury is the four Skyline Penthouse Suites, spanning the top two levels. These 217 sqm suites feature spacious open-plan lounge and dining areas, two private guest retreats, an oversized bathtub for sunset views, and a well-equipped kitchenette with a butler’s pantry and separate staff entrance, ideal for sky-high entertaining.
Various dining and entertainment options will complement the Star Grand. Culinary experiences include Cucina Regina, Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro, and Azteca. Celebrity Chef Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle, live entertainment venue LiveWire, and a sprawling Sports Bar on the Casino floor will also feature prominently. The Sky Deck, a 250m rooftop runway of restaurants and bars, will offer stunning views of the Brisbane River.
