Renowned chef, author and broadcaster Adam Liaw will join Maitland Riverlights as the official Ambassador for the 2024 event, headlining the festivities on Saturday 12 October at The Levee Central Maitland and will host a special three course dinner at Maitland Town Hall on Friday 11 October.
‘I’m thrilled to be returning to Maitland Riverlights as its Ambassador for 2024, an event which celebrates diversity through food, music and culture – all things that are very close to my heart,’ says Mr Liaw.
In its second year of an expanded format, Maitland Riverlights invites attendees to immerse themselves in over 30 different cultures through food, music, dance and interactive experiences.
The Levee Central Maitland will transform into a global village on Saturday 12 October, offering a day of cultural exploration.
Attendees can collect their Riverlights cultural passport and navigate through The Levee’s global village, culminating in the Riverlights finale on the riverbank with a lantern river flotilla, music and dancing, and a dynamic light show.
Leading up to the main event, Maitland will feature lighting installations, lantern making as well as dance and drum workshops from Tuesday 8 October to Friday 11 October.
Funding for this project has been provided by the NSW Government in association with Maitland City Council.
