The Slate Phuket designer hotel announces the latest in its BOLD experiential dining events, with a special Soul of Cuba dinner to be held on 17th August. Taking place in the hotel’s gorgeous Rivet & Rebar restaurant, the event will bring together the vibrant flavours of Cuban cuisine with the irresistible rhythms of Live Son Cubano, Salsa, Mambo and more.

BOLD events are held regularly at The Slate Phuket, encouraging guests to Be Original, Light-hearted, and Daring and creating immersive dining experiences that bring fun and fresh flavours to Thailand’s largest island.

The Slate’s owner Krystal Prakaikaew Na-Ranong, has designed BOLD events to provide a sensory adventure amidst the whimsical backdrop of Bill Bensley’s imaginative spaces.

“We invite you to join us for an unforgettable night of Cuban cuisine and soulful Cuban music,” says Krystal. “We love bringing new tastes and new experiences to Phuket and we are delighted to welcome Chef Raymond Gonzalez from popular restaurant Casa Panza, whose Cuban recipes have been handed down from his grandmother.”

Cuban cooking is little known in Thailand and is a colourful and flavourful blend of Spanish, African and Caribbean influences, which emphasizes fresh ingredients and bold flavours; while Cuban music is also a fusion of different influences. Together, they provide the perfect recipe for a great night. Expect such dishes as tostones and frijoles alongside Thai favourites, and music that is guaranteed to get you on your feet.

Elevate your night with the enchanting voice of Lilith, a gifted singer from Cuba. Her performance will whisk you away to the vibrant streets of Havana, creating an unforgettable, immersive experience.

Steeped in Phuket’s rich mining history and brought to life by the daring vision of Bill Bensley, The Slate regularly supports culture and the arts through its BOLD events and always strives to surprise and delight guests.

Cuban Bold dinner packages are available for just THB 2500++ per person for food only or THB 3500 per person for a food and wine pairing.
