Eaton HK proudly presents the third iteration of UNHEARD sound and music festival 2024 a spectrum of sound, a unique festival hosted in partnership with Contemporary Musiking HK and dtby that explores the essence of sound and music through a series of live performances, talks, workshops and screenings.
UNHEARD will explore a broad spectrum of auditory experiences. The festival underscores the subjective nature of sound perception, essentially navigating how and when we may for instance notice sound as music or something else altogether, how we categorize something as pleasing or displeasing.
This year’s festival highlights relationships with sound in everyday life, showcasing cutting-edge music technology, 3D printing, electronics, and innovative soundscapes. Participants can also look forward to curated live performances, music documentary screenings, panels on China’s experimental music scene, and the sounds of the diaspora. There will also be a unique listening and storytelling session by Deaf community members as well as an interactive DIY radio installation by neurodivergent artists.
The lineup includes local musicians like SOPHY, RIDDEM, SPORA, cehryl, and hirsk, along with international sound artists, composers, and critics. Spanning two weekends, the UNHEARD festival promises an eclectic and visionary experience for all.
