Cathay Pacific - LogoCathay Pacific is soaring to new heights, announcing a substantial increase in flights to Brisbane and Perth. Starting October 28, 2024, the airline will enhance its flight schedules to pre-pandemic levels, reflecting a significant 75% increase in flight frequency. This ambitious move underscores Cathay Pacific’s commitment to providing improved connectivity and support for passengers and cargo.

A Robust Flight Schedule

The updated flight schedule will see a substantial rise in weekly flights:

  • Perth flights will increase from six to eleven per week.
  • Brisbane flights will rise from six to ten per week.

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific’s services to Sydney and Melbourne will continue their robust daily operations, with four flights per day to Sydney and three to Melbourne. The airline’s dedication to maintaining and expanding its network highlights its strategic vision for growth and customer satisfaction.

A Strategic Rebuild

This latest expansion is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader strategy to rebuild its flight network. The Cathay Group, which includes the wholly-owned subsidiary HK Express, aims to restore its passenger flights to 100% of pre-pandemic levels by the first quarter of 2025. The airline reached 80% of this goal in the second quarter of 2024, reconnecting travellers to over 80 destinations worldwide.

Leadership Perspective

Frosti Lau, Regional General Manager for Southwest Pacific, expressed pride and optimism about the expansion: “I am incredibly proud to see flights increasing for both Brisbane and Perth. This is testament to our team who have been continuing to provide world-class service as we rebuild our flights and network. These new flights will give our Australian customers more choice when traveling to Hong Kong and beyond.”

Enhanced Cargo Capacity

The updated flight schedule is a boon not just for passengers but also for the cargo business. As Lau noted, “This announcement is equally important for our cargo business as we grow our freight capacity. The updated schedule will see new opportunities available for businesses in Brisbane and Perth across the likes of fresh produce, pharma, specialty items, and more.”

Cathay Pacific’s increased cargo capacity will open new avenues for Australian businesses, enabling efficient and reliable transport of goods to and from Hong Kong.

Commitment to Excellence

Cathay Pacific continues to invest in its network and customer experience, ensuring that every journey is memorable. Passengers can look forward to award-winning in-flight entertainment, exceptional comfort, and exquisite dining options that reflect Hong Kong’s culinary excellence.
