Global Rainbow is a vibrant new edition to this year’s Vivid Sydney. The tallest installation will beam the seven colours of the rainbow 40km across Sydney, for the international art installation’s Australian debut.
Created by Los Angeles and Berlin-based artist Yvette Mattern, the laser lights represent a beacon of hope and inclusivity, providing a guiding light above the Southern Hemisphere’s largest light festival. Global Rainbow previously lit up the city skies of London, Berlin, and Toronto and will now light up Sydney.
Guests can discover the start of the rainbow and enjoy thrilling outdoor views of the illuminated city, join a limited-edition Vivid Sydney SKYWALK at Sydney Tower Eye.
- This 60-minute experience takes guests around the outside of Sydney Tower Eye to bask in the lights, walk across two glass platforms and get up close to Global Rainbow.
- Available every evening at 5:15pm during Vivid Sydney, with an additional 6:15 pm experience available on weekends.
The whole family can enjoy 360-degree indoor views of Vivid Sydney and Global Rainbow at Sydney Tower Eye’s Observation Deck, and revel at the city’s tallest vantage point.
- Take in Vivid Sydney and Global Rainbow from 250m above the street and enjoy the extended opening hours during the festival.
- General Admission tickets to the Observation Deck allow guests to stay as long as they wish during opening hours.
Global Rainbow will be shine brightly from 6pm until 10pm every night during Vivid Sydney, from Friday 24 May to Saturday 15 June 2024.
