Crystalbrook Kingsley, Newcastle’s first luxury hotel in the heart of the cultural centre, is bringing the magic of a winter wonderland to the vibrant coastal city. Partnering with Iceland’s premium craft distillery, Reyka Vodka, the hotel will welcome back the Kingsley Winter Lodge dining dome experience, inviting guests to indulge in a captivating European-inspired winter escape from 1 June until 1 September 2024.

This year we have built on the Winter Lodge experience to add a new larger dome, a communal firepit, falling snow, mulled cocktails and new menu with decadent winter delights like Swiss cheese fondue and a flambe dessert. Winter is the best time to experience our city and we look forward to welcoming Novocastrians and visitors to experience the magic of the Winter Lodge.” said Josquin Crepelliere, Crystalbrook Kingsley General Manager.

Positioned on the outdoor terrace of Ms Mary, the hotel’s ground floor lobby bar, each dining dome is a cosy sanctuary designed to radiate warmth, with plush rugs, leather seats and wooden accents reminiscent of a luxe European chalet. A communal fire pit crackles warmly, while snow dusts the air with enchantment. Each private dining dome can be secured for up to two blissful hours, with the choice to bask in the winter sun by day, or stargaze by the fire pit’s glow by night. Diners are invited to gather loved ones in a new, larger dining dome, where up to 14 guests can enjoy an intimate celebration, be it a Christmas in July soirée or a milestone to cherish.

Iceland’s first vodka distillery, Reyka Vodka has been distilled with some of the purest water in the world, sourced from a glacial spring that runs through a 4,000 year old lava field.  The Winter Lodge menu features signature Reyka cocktails such as the Puffin Collins, an elixir of elderflower and grapefruit inspired by Iceland’s adorable native bird, alongside classics including an Espresso Martini and Butterscotch Martini. For an added touch of flair, on Friday and Saturday nights guests will be treated to mulled cocktails from a drinks cart, to sip by the fire before moving into their winter dome.

Guests can choose between two indulgent experiences, the ‘Winter Wonderland‘ or ‘Chateau Kingsley’ packages, each curated with European-inspired winter treats and signature cocktails. With both experiences, guests will indulge on a European-inspired share-style menu across three courses. Entrées include House-made focaccia, Scallop and fennel pie, and rich Baked brie served with roasted grapes, truffle honey and walnuts. With a focus on local ingredients, mains include Rigatoni alla vodka and Braised lamb shoulder with salsa verde and macadamia crumb, rounded off with enticing desserts such as Flambe Cointreau and Vanilla cannelé served with crème anglaise. Guests enjoying the ‘Chateau Kingsley’ menu package will delight in the addition of decadent Swiss cheese fondue, served alongside steamed fingerling potatoes, truffled salami, cornichons and fresh baked baguette.

Winter Wonderland Package

With a shared Puffin Collins carafe upon arrival, followed by a three-course share-style menu, the Winter Wonderland package complements the cosy winter theming of each dome. Guests will have a curated winter cocktail menu at their disposal, and will also be treated to a Reyka Vodka-infused mini iced dessert cocktail to enchant the senses.

                Chateau Kingsley Package

Designed for those with a soft spot for the finer things in life, the Chateau Kingsley experience beckons with a spiced apple mulled cocktail on arrival and an additional cocktail of choice. Indulge in a three-course feast fit for royalty, complete with a Swiss cheese fondue that will transport guests to the luxurious lodges of Andermatt or Courchevel. A mini iced dessert cocktail provides the final, whimsical touch.

Priced from $99 per person, Kingsley Winter Lodge experiences are available to book now. Seatings can be reserved from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 12:30 pm with the final seating at 8:00 pm.
