Sunrise viewers were treated to a touching moment this morning as the winner of Holland America Line’s “Win The Ultimate Alaskan Cruise Experience” competition was announced.

Alicia Cleland from Pennant Hills was selected as the lucky winner, seated next to her mother, Dana Pope, who was unable to hold back her tears of joy. Alicia informed the Sunrise team that she will be giving the incredible experience to her parents, both Dana and Roy Pope, as a thank you for the tireless work they put into their family in which she highlighted in her initial entry: “I would love to take my mum. She’s always busy watching grandchildren and never makes time for herself.”

The two will embark on an unforgettable journey aboard the perfectly mid-sized Koningsdam ship, departing from Anchorage, Alaska on August 13, 2024, and arriving in Vancouver on August 24, 2024.

The 11-day Yukon + Denali Tour Cruise Tour Y5L will take Alicia’s parents through Alaska’s Inside Passage paired with a scenic train into Alaska, plus two nights at McKinley Chalet Resort. The couple will bask in the breathtaking views of the Alaskan wilderness, with opportunities to explore Denali National Park and the remote landscapes of the Yukon. These lucky winners will enjoy accommodation in a Verandah room, complete with twin share or double room options, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing experience throughout the voyage with great views from their balcony.
