To celebrate community and friendship, EVA Air has teamed up with the San Francisco Giants and Hello Kitty® to host Hello Kitty® Day at Oracle Park on Saturday, May 11, 2024. EVA President Clay Sun will throw out the first pitch while Hello Kitty® and Giants Mascot Lou Seal take the field. Hello Kitty® Day at Oracle Park, in honor of the globally beloved Sanrio icon’s 50th anniversary, is one of many diverse activations the Giants have slated for 2024. EVA officially became a San Francisco Giants international airline partner in September 2023.
Bringing even more joy to the San Francisco Bay Area, EVA’s Hello Kitty® “Shining Star Jet” is now flying between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) in Taipei, Taiwan for a limited time. The cheerfully bedecked long-range Boeing 777-300ER is scheduled to fly two days a week, on Fridays and Sundays, now through May 26. Then, the cheerful jet shifts to one day a week, on Sundays only, from June 2 to June 23. The flights will operate using exclusive flight numbers, BR07 and BR08.
The cast of colorful, Giants-sized characters painted up and down the length of the plane features a few of Hello Kitty®’s many friends. Little Twin Stars Kiki and Lala fly through the skies with their teddy bear while Hello Kitty® and My Melody happily ride along on stars. The specially liveried jet was used to launch EVA’s Houston flights in June 2015 and was most recently operated on the airline’s Chicago route.
“On behalf of everyone at EVA Air, it continues to be a tremendous honor to work with the San Francisco Giants,” said EVA President Clay Sun. “As our partnership continues through 2027, we look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate community and friendship with the Giants.”
In celebration of Hello Kitty® Day, the first 15,000 fans to enter Oracle Park on May 11 will each receive a Hello Kitty® Bucket Hat. Fans are also invited to visit EVA’s booth in Willie Mays Plaza that day.
“Like the Giants, EVA Air is committed to cultivating unmatched experiences for their customers,” said Jessica Santamaria, San Francisco Giants vice president of partnership sales and business development. “We are thrilled to partner with EVA Air, the premier, award-winning Taiwanese airline, to promote travel to Oracle Park, San Francisco and beyond.”
