Melbourne Avalon Airport, Victoria’s secondary airport, proposes an innovative and cost-effective rail connection that will bolster the state’s transportation network. In response to potential delays with the Tullamarine Airport rail link, Tony Brun, Melbourne Avalon Airport’s CEO, emphasised their readiness to work alongside the State Government on this essential infrastructure project.

“With Melbourne Avalon Airport serving 80% of passengers traveling to or from Melbourne, we are ideally positioned to support the growing transportation needs of Victoria” said Tony Brun “This initiative will provide the public with increased choice and competition in airport transportation and also provide vital transportation for the thousands of employees who are currently working on site at Avalon. We are committed to collaborating with the State Government to bring this solution to fruition within 2 years.”

“Furthermore, what is important to note and in contrast to those at Tullamarine, the owners of Melbourne Avalon Airport are prepared to help fund and contribute to this project. And look forward to renewed discussions with the State Government” added Tony Brun, “Victoria is the fastest growing state in Australia and Victoria needs both airports to secure strategic long term benefits for future growth within the state. Together, we aim to set a new standard in airport connectivity that benefits the community at large… Bring it on!”
