Actively supporting the SAR government’s efforts to enhance economic diversification in Macau and for it to become a ‘City of Performing Arts’, Melco Resorts & Entertainment is committed to promoting the coordinated development of ‘tourism +’ through the hosting of varied and exciting performances and shows. In collaboration with Cultural Affairs Bureau (ICM) and Macao Orchestra, the Melco Resorts & Entertainment presents – “Violin Prodigy Christian Li” Music Concert took place on April 13 at the Grand Auditorium of Macao Cultural Centre. Furthermore, the Company continued to support local artistic talent development through the concert and a related special community outreach event.
Mr. Clarence Chung, Melco Board Director, said, “By introducing investment to other areas such as culture and sports, we are thrilled to be supporting the government’s 1+4 strategy as the basis of the city’s Plan for Moderate Economic Diversification. We look forward to further building upon Melco’s track record of bringing innovative, world-class events, performances and shows to Macau – to attract visitors from both within and outside the region as we contribute towards the city’s status as an international hub for performing arts. We are also glad to continue supporting young local talent development for the city’s sustainable and healthy growth.”
At the Melco Resorts & Entertainment presents – “Violin Prodigy Christian Li” Music Concert, rising violin star Christian Li performed Tchaikovsky’s ‘Violin Concerto in D Major’, while Lio Kuokman, Music Director and Principal Conductor of Macao Orchestra, directed the orchestra in a rendition of Alexander Glazunov’s ballet music, ‘The Seasons’, as well as ‘Thunderwalker’ by American contemporary composer Stacy Garrop. To promote the art among the local community and support the Company’s efforts in talent development, Melco extended concert invitations to teachers and students of Academia de Música São Pio X, Macao Polytechnic University’s Faculty of Arts & Design and Macao Conservatory’s Faculty of Music.
Today, a further special performance and meet-up event was hosted at Melco’s Studio City to enable the audience, including students and teachers of Academia de Música São Pio X, a closer encounter with the international artist. Following another mesmerizing musical performance, Christian Li and Macao Orchestra Assistant Conductor Tony Yeh shared their inspiration, expertise and experiences gained along their musical journeys with the attendees before gathering for some group photographs.
