Da Nang is renowned as the heart of Central Vietnamese cuisine, offering many local specialties that captivate both locals and tourists alike. Dishes such as Mì Quảng, Bún Chả Cá, and Bánh Xèo showcase the region’s rich flavours and culinary ingenuity. The city’s food scene is a harmonious blend of street food gems and high-end eateries, where seafood plays a starring role. It features an array of fresh and live options that are a must-try for any visitor.

The MICHELIN Guide inspectors, known for their anonymity and rigorous standards, have been mainly concerned with the quality and diversity of Da Nang’s offerings. Their experiences at roadside eateries, enjoying local dishes like congee with braised duck, underscore the city’s authentic culinary culture.

The integration of Da Nang into the MICHELIN Guide has been enthusiastically supported by Sun Group, with Chairman Mr. Dang Minh Truong commenting on the development. “It’s a privilege to help bring MICHELIN Guide to Da Nang and to highlight Central Vietnam’s culinary wealth. This recognition from such a prestigious institution not only celebrates our local cuisine but also enhances our appeal as a global tourist destination,” he stated.

This expansion is part of a larger initiative to promote Vietnamese cuisine and culture, attracting food enthusiasts and travellers worldwide. The anticipated 2024 MICHELIN Guide selection, which will include all three Vietnamese cities, will be announced in a grand ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2024.

As Da Nang prepares to welcome the world, culinary professionals and food lovers eagerly anticipate the opportunities this recognition will bring. The city’s inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide is a nod to its current achievements and a beacon for future culinary innovations and explorations.
