In an exemplary demonstration of commitment to sustainability, Nova Maldives, nestled in the heart of the South Ari Atoll, illuminated the importance of environmental conservation during Earth Hour with a suite of engaging and eco-conscious activities. This esteemed island resort, known for its dedication to green practices, provided guests with a memorable Earth Hour celebration highlighting nature’s beauty and the significance of collective action in protecting our planet.

The festivities commenced with an enlightening Flora Workshop to deepen guests’ appreciation for the island’s diverse ecosystem. This educational initiative revealed the intricate relationships between the island’s flora and fauna, illustrating the delicate balance that supports life in this idyllic setting.

As night fell on March 29th, Nova’s dining venues embraced the Earth Hour spirit with notable zeal. The Soul Kitchen, an all-day dining haven, substituted traditional lighting for the soft ambience of eco-friendly, battery-powered candles. This thoughtful gesture conserved energy and enhanced the dining experience, inviting guests to savour dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients under a romantic, flickering glow.

Not to be outdone, Flames restaurant transformed its dining experience by moving its operations outdoors to the picturesque Wink Beach. Diners were treated to an unforgettable meal under the stars, indulging in expertly grilled specialties. At the same time, the soft light of a lunar eclipse and twinkling constellations provided a natural backdrop, minimizing the event’s energy footprint.

Adding to the evening’s serene atmosphere, Nova introduced guests to the Soulful Rejuvenation “ritual” at the Escape Spa. This unique experience, conducted in complete darkness, offered a sensory journey aimed at fostering personal and environmental harmony. Participants enjoyed a series of treatments, including a detoxifying foot massage and a nourishing body wrap, culminating in a reflection over a warm cup of ginger tea.

A symbolic overwater signage featuring the Earth Hour 60+ logo was also unveiled, casting a spotlight over the lagoon to promote awareness about the global initiative. This striking installation reminded us of the ongoing commitment required to safeguard our planet’s future.
